When I got my pre from ebay, right away I noticed the right channel is stronger than the left. After some research I found that replacing the caps could correct this. I have decided to replace everything in the signal path. The pics are when I replaced the two main caps. A bit of a difference in size.
I have since powered it on and wow, what a difference in the sound.

Modern caps are much smaller, and typically lower ESR and DF if you selected them carefully.
I was thinking about a separate preamp to have hanging around so I can set up testing easier. This looks like basically 3 op-amps. What do you think of it?

Can you tell me the exact Output (Volts, Amp) of the tranny? I'm currently trying to replace tranny on our RC1070 - mine don't have detail spec. on tranny's body.
