Then you should pay attention to the size of each driver, the type of surround, and the cone material. Make sure the sensitivities make sense...If it was me I'd probably use paper coned woofer and mid.

Most older quality drivers work surprisingly well. Linearity and distortion for good examples of older drivers is really little changed from typical modern drivers. Those who have forked out modest fortunes on high end drivers will ppoint out that there HAVE been advances, but I submit that generally speaking not a lot has changed in the drivers.
Redoing the cabinets and crossovers is well worth the effort though.
