i got 4 x TC11 and 2 x D19 what is a better config?
I'll vote for b. I prefer less directionality for surrounds.
thanks Tim....
you got an XO suggestion.
noramlly if I used a) I would have run the tweeters up from 3/4k, the inner mids full range till 3/4k and the outer mids would be used as baffle step compensation.
with b) i get a bit confused. one alternate is to use 4 mids in series/parallel and used baffle step compensation for all for mids but then 4 drivers working upto 3/4k might create comb effects wont they?
i am willing to modify the flanges of the tweeters to get teh centers cloe together. since they are sheilded the closest i can get the 2 tweeter domes from each other is about 2.75".

Speakers finished.......some pics
The speakers are finished an running great. Hearing things in the rears that I haven't heard before. They have met their design goals - discrete speakers with a more diffused pattern.
I would like to thank Andy for his encouragement and his help.
Pictures of the finished rears, with and without grilles.
