What is the name of the material used for the screen of a rear projection TV screen?
Rear projection TV's don't use a material that you can buy at a store. They use very large custom-made Fresnel lenses. These huge lenses are useless for anything but rear projection TV's. Smaller Fresnel lenses have many uses in DIY projection. If you search the forum you can find tons of information on Fresnel lenses, and other screen materials.
AHHHH... thats the reason why you cant see them from the side very well...
