I am in the process of building something I want to wire for audio and have a list of wants, and am curious if its possible to do it easily... not looking for anything overly hifi... as far as I know there is not an all in one answer to what i am asking for.
Today i found a post describing one of the components I want to have... so my list of wants is:
- Single Line Input
- Amplification 2.0 or 2.1... likely a TPA3116 or similar.
- Bluetooth input... when I connect with BT it will override the Line In.
- Headphone output... nothing fancy just for late nights.
- It will be using a computer PSU... 12 and 5v available.
As noted, I am familiar with TPA3116... I see on eBay there are plenty of other chips too... but either way I am thinking a 2.1. The BT input can be handled with this gizmo apparently as someone posted it saying that the BT overrides the Line In:
LN-BT02 Bluetooth 4.0 Audio Receiver Board Wireless Stereo Sound Module For Car | eBay
The hardest part is the headphones... still not sure how to integrate anything that will disconnect the speaker when I connect the phones, but surely its possible... just not sure how.
I feel like its snowballing into some Voltron like beast... there isn't a single unit that does even 3/4 of what I am wanting. Assuming its not crazy, is there any advice or warnings for proceeding with this? Thanks

For the headphone output you can calculate a L-pad to keep the amplifier seeing the correct impedance and to decrease the output by X dB. The speaker and "headphone" output can be switched with a simple switch (better with the amplifier off).
I'll keep watching until you post results with that BT Receiver board since I'm looking for one with good quality and without problems. 😉

I don't know if it really matters to you or not, but the bluetooth IC on that board only supports Bluetooth 3.0, not 4.0 like the seller states.

Thanks for that. Now I am not so sure what to do... I am not going for a super hifi application, but wouldn't mind it sounding good. Are there any known 4.0 or AptX modules that can do auto switching between AUX and the BT signal?
