Was wondering what isn’t too expensive but good enough quality to try with this speakers original crossover and diff tweeters . or do I got to buy passive x overs ?
The original tweeters are misplaced somewhere but weren’t that spectacular anyways and very old .. woofers are new visiton, and sound pretty good .

Should really be posted in Multiway section, but the lack of response is probably due to the fact that more information about the speaker system and the current crossover is required.

OK, what model?
Then recommend using Visaton tweeters, so search for any factory, DIY information to find the tweeter
A cone tweeter may be a good, inexpensive match: TW 6 NG - 8 Ohm | Visaton
It needs a 12dB/octave crossover at 3,000Hz
Or 12dB/octave at 5,000Hz for extra power handling.

Realistic MC-1200. Check to see if the cut out hole is 56mm. Galu's tweeter suggestion will probably work fine, if so.
The built in xo will be fine but be careful on the volume as it's likely a first order (6dB/oct).

The upside-down photo
Thanks! Shows how well I see without my contacts. 🙁
For interest's sake, I attach an image of the MC-1200's original cone tweeter.
I see reference to the tweeter having a single 2.2 uF capacitor as the HF filter, which would give a 6db/octave slope from 9,000 Hz.
The suggested replacement Visaton cone tweeter (resonant frequency 1,500 Hz) should be happy with that.

A nice tweeter replacement is the GRS phenolic ring model here.
To me they sound great, perfect for that RS box.
Phenolic Ring Tweeter Replacement for AR-4X CTS Marantz and More 8 Ohm

Yeah, real common way back when and what I used to cap off cheap plastic wide range tweeter horns above wide range woofers, though IIRC they measured more like 10 kHz.
Moved to Multi.
Thanks I realized it was in wrong spot , too late haha ..
Now to figure out what original x overs are set at ..
Hopefully I don’t need passives if original are good enough but definitely want to get it right.

Yeah not sure if gRS or visiton would work better not sure we’re I stored the originals but haven’t found them yet anywhere.
Visiton Woofers definitely sound way better than the originals. But I think I may still have the originals somewhere, keep em as back ups .

My GRS suggestion was because they used those popular tweeters in AR, Marantz, and other popular speakers - so they must have a reason to have chosen them.
I have a pair implanted into my shop test speakers, they have nice dispersion and a sweet tonal quality.

The paper dustcap version sound dull (TW 70) and the other one that come with a very thin aluminized polymer dust cap (TW6NG) sound much better.
PS : you should not compare the TW6NG with others cheap units, the dustcap uses a very hard high tech multilayer metalized polymer... so hard that i've broken a scalpel blade by triying to cut it.

Do you have the original crossovers? Now to figure out what original x overs are set at

Even if the original crossover consisted simply of a capacitor in series with the tweeter - as suspected - that would be classified as a "passive" crossover.
I think you mean "replacements" when you say "passives"?
