Was playing this working turntable Realistic Lab 2200 when about 10 minutes into record it started playing like mickey mouse fast. Started and stopped several times and stayed in fast mode. I then moved 33/45 switch back and forth and now when I try to play record arm comes down but motor does not spin. The light for 33 is on so did the motor most likey die here or are there any common problems with this model. It's a linear DD turntable and have heard it's really made by technics even though it is branded by realistic.
Sounds like the speed regulator chooched out. Can get a service manual? That is the first thing U need to DIY.
Vinylengine has this: Realistic LAB-2000 - Manual - Linear Tracking Turntable - Vinyl Engine since this is a brushless d.c. motor, you will need a schematic. Best case scenario, capacitor crapped out. Worst case, servo chip fried from probably a capacitor.

Thanks for reply. Pulled the DD motor and has a hole burned in IC. Is there any other items that are good to replace on these when replacing IC? I also noticed grease is slightly sticky on motor. Any good replacement grease? I have sewing machine oil and lithium grease.
