Hey everybody, after wasting some small change on some as-is LCDs through ebay, (I'm still waiting for a very poor quality new one I sent back to be refunded) and then ruining a good one because I wasn't being careful enough, I've decided to get one of the 7 or 8 inch displays most of which come from Hong Kong. Since I know nothing of this kind of purchase the chance of unexpected costs makes me very uncomfortable.
What would be nice is if people that have bought these units from Hong Kong and other countries other than their own could list the duties or other costs they paid in addition to the shipping and unit cost. I have heard of people buying a monitor and a month after they receive it get an additional charge that they were not expecting.
I personnaly am most interested in the experiences of people here in the USA, but think that the experiences of people in other countries could help their fellow citizens decide what, when and how to make this kind of purchase.
