Real "blind testing"?

Have blind people who possess acute hearing ever been recruited for appraising music reproduction?

Amazingly, it's impossible to find reports of any such testing.

In the pre-digital age, many piano-tuners were blind. Surely the same aural acuity which facilitated this would make such people the ultimate arbiters of 'high fidelity'?

(And incidentally Helmut Walcha, one of the greatest players of church and cathedral organs, was blind.)

So is Stevie Wonder. He is his own sound engineer. A window into a very interesting perspective. I find his recordings heavily mixed toward the extremes and lacking mid range. So it seems his perception of what 'sighted' people hear is bloated mid range. I'm willing to wager he's not a tube guy😎
