ready made board for Preamp with unbalanced and balanced input/outputs

I wonder if there is any ready made boards for a pre-amp with both balanced and unbalanced inputs/outputs.

I know there is many other aspects to think about, for example passive/active but just want something good and not noisy 🙂

I'm not so good in electronics (maybe I can improve?) but can solder somewhat OK.

Understand that this is a vauge question, but I appreciate any directions.

Thanks!

Not a problem that can't be easily solved. A gain stage takes the signal from a source device, phono-preamp, CD, etc., and drives the cables to you amplifiers.
A preamp is input selection, volume control and gain section. If you have short cable to amps then some do away with the gain section. If is a matter of engineering compromised where in the signal chain you put the volume control and gain stage. I like a gain stage at the output of the preamp with low output impedance to drive long signal cables to the amps. I did such a project that went through several iterations. You can find it here (the first page gives you the basic info): https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/preamp-control-volume-input-mute-remote.326029/

Can you list the other components in your system that will be used with the preamp?

A "discrete gain stage" is just one way to make a preamp, using separate transistors.
Another way to build a preamp is with operational amplifiers, which can be quite excellent also.

Do your other components have balanced inputs/outputs?

For source I use a Rotel CD player, a Denon DP80 turntable with SME V arm and Koetsu Rosewood Signature cartridge, and sometimes a Tandberg TD20A reel to reel. The Phono Pre-amp is single ended but ir you had two of them they could do balanced. The Preamp is my Microprocessor comtrolled volume and input sections and a Modified Pass Aleph P gain stage. That feeds a pair of modified Threshold SA/1s and PBN Audio Sammy speakers. At this point only the CD to preamp is balance. I have both single ended and balanced outputs on the preamp and maybe one day I will update the front end boards in the Amps to balanced inputs. Balanced from end to end has some sonic advantages but of course is more costly. Such is life.

First; Sorry for the late answer 🙂

Today I have a RME ADI-2 DAC FS that I use as Pre-amp but since it lacks analog input I want another pre-amp so I can connect my turntable (With phono-preamp of course). My speakers are powered with a Purifi Eigentakt implementation from BoXem. I think that's all for now 🙂
