So in my current situation, I can't really build boxes so I was thinking about replacing the drivers in my PSB speakers with significantly higher end drivers. Not really sure where to start but here are the specs for the cabinets and the current drivers.
1" Tweeter
(3) 6" Midrange drivers, each are ported.
Crossover is 2,500Hz, B3; 500Hz, LR4
Cabinet is 2.35 cu ft (65.8 liter) Bass Reflex 3 x 2” Front Port

I guess I am willing to spend around $1200 on all the drivers. Not really sure if this is a good idea? I seem to think that going this route has the potential to make a huge upgrade for short money and I won't have to build any cabinets. My assumption is that the PSB speakers I am starting with have decent cabinetry and design and the crossovers are well made.
I hope this doesn't get completely shot down as I am pretty excited about it

So speakers are 6ohm so i have to take that into consideration with the build or the crossovers will work at different frequencies.
Anything else i need to consider when doing this drop in?

Go read some threads here.
The idea of just replacing drivers has been discussed many times.
It never ends well.
Even worse for you as you seem to want to keep the original crossovers.

Thanks. I figured it wasn't the best idea but a guy can dream
