Hi Guys,
Does any one have any experience with the RCF CX15N351 coaxial.
I see Martian Audio is using it in their Bullfrog loudspeaker.
Does any one know how it sounds?

Never heard one. Without FIR dsp it will probably be pretty hard to make a great sounding crossover. The horn covers a significant part of the cone which it turn limits usable bandwidth. You can get away with using steep slopes but you will lose transient perfect potential without FIR.
Thanks ErnieM,
Just wondering why it sounds so good, everyone that has heard them states that it is a fabulous speaker. Got to be something going in its favour.

Not sure by which mechanism the horn should limit usable bandwidth.
I've seen a number of non-coaxial drivers which are partially covered to extend the usable bandwidth with regards to dispersion though.
Neither does it seem to be a problem for ME Geithain and if people who compared them are to be believed they are more accurate than ATC monitors.

It's very high quality stuff like most of the high end Italian brands. I use a Ciare NDCX12-1.4 and it kills.
The stuff I mentioned above might be considered nitpicking to some people. Trying to get the last 10% of performance possible from a given set of drivers.

this Bullfrog speaker can It really be right, that it has a frequency response as low as 50Hz? A big 15" driver in af fairly small box?
That is one of the things that has me interested. have two friends that have listened to this speaker and were amazed at how good it was.
One of them has owned many hi end systems including Unison research and said this is end game for him.

ok interesting. How about dispersion of high frequencies, I use a tractrix horn with a 1" compressiondriver and it sounds great, but dispersion of the highest frequencies is very low. Are you 100% sure this RCF CX15N351 coaxial is the used driver? It could be fun to try and clone this speaker sometime, but I guess RCF Pro drivers are expensive? Have you ever seen or heard of the crossover, and parts used in the BullFrog
