Hello fellow DIYer's. I am trying to mount RCA sockets to a thick (5mm+) back panel, and found my stash of regular RCA sockets to be too short. Where can I buy some RCA sockets with long threads?
Thanks.
Thanks.
You can expand the holes with a drill 20mm diameter and 3mm depth.
The result is very pretty backside panel.

The easiest way is to make a small thin panel for the sockets.
Cut a suitably sized hole in the existing back panel, and mount the new panel behind it.
or do what Alfonz said.

Neutrik NF2D-B-2
Available from Mouser. The two conductors of the RCA socket are isolated from the housing as well, so you can directly mount this into wood or metal.

Counter-bore as post3.
You could counter-bore the outside of the back panel to recess the RCAs and give them some added protection.

Thanks guys, but my metal work skill is sub par and I am looking for a cheap way to get this done. Plus I already drilled my holes so the neutrik guy wont fit. 🙁
