Hi,
I need some help please.
I picked up a Harmon Kardon 520 receiver, which is a beauty.
2 of the output transistors are not present. ANd I cannot find a set anywhere.
The 2 that are present (and work) are imprinted with
RCA 2577 and a couple of other codes that look like FS BL or FS 8L.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Please post or email me.
Thanks.

Hi
Not sure what experience or level you are coming from?
Those may or may not be original parts. The RCA 2577 is probably a RCA or HK "in-house" number. Even you find and replace the exact missing outputs, it's almost guarantied to blow again taking out more parts and even the speaker. You need to be able to check other parts and replace the bad ones of those as well. But first you should find the HK schematics or sevice manual. Have you tried that yet?

Thanks Infinia.
yes, I am a novice. And now I understand.
All of the manuals offered on line pertain to the newer AVR 520- which is not mine.
Any other ideas?

why not try calling the Factory Service or at the http://www.harmankardon.com/EN-US/Support/Pages/SupportOverView.aspx
H-K transistors use a 4303XXXX part number format - yours are probably numbered 43032577. Within some part numbers there were Hfe families for matching, so look for other clues - colored marks or dots. On some, and for most RCA devices, RCA matched in-house, so no dots. There are exceptions to every rule, however, and some may have been matched by H-K and bear the color markings.
I only wish I knew of where to find replacements....
Cheers,
Brian
