Hi,
Due to space constrains it is sometimes difficult to fit the power transformer into the chassis. I tried "hanging" the transformer from the top lid, but that creates all kinds of connectivity problems. I also tried raising the trafo on the bolt as see in the attached picture, it does not touch any PCB's - any problems with this solution?
This is my JC-2 clone preamp with remote - it sounds excellent, no noise.

Just make sure that the bolt holding the transformer does not touch the top and bottom of a conductive enclosure at the same time. That would be a bad thing. It will make a single turn in the secondary winding that is short circuited. This will then melt the primary winding because it cannot deliver the current demanded.
