For sure its a weird design. And I did not dive too deep into it because its not of big interest for me.
I would never design an amp this way, my 70W/8R mono amps have 330VA/channel, +-20V rails balanced, big heatsinks, 8 Transistors per channel and a bias circuit which keeps bias rock stable. Completely different, but it also costs >1000€ only for material.
The company mentioned here is still on the market so it cant be 100% wrong. Or, better said, with good advertisement, a good design seems to be irrelevant 😎
For me, the IRFP mosfets sound very well, I have no complaints about them.
