Radio tube guitar preamp

I recently bought an old aviation radio and am planning to use it's tubes in a guitar preamp. Would it be possible to use a 12AB5 or a 7701 in this role, and if so, how?

Sure. The 12AB5 would make a great 5 watt power amp. 7701... er... good luck ith that one.

12AB5 ~6AQ5 with a 12V heater. Plenty 6AQ5/6V6 schematics out there.

Sounds like a "poor man's Valve Jr." in the makin'! 😀
