I just found a set of these at a thrift store for $8.50. I only wanted them for the speakers but found this thread and found out about the modification... added a Bluetooth module inside the main speaker box and now have a pretty damn good sounding BT speaker system that will replace my current. bulky garage set up.

Just had another one blow up, one output smoked while driving it hard.
Outputs are TIP42/43 which are 6A , 65W - pathetic.
Will probably replace them with BD911/912 which are 15A, 90W, and the
drivers with BD139/140 and see how it goes.
BD911/912 were the highest power TO220 s that I could find that seem to
be a good match.
These have a decent power supply and sound decent so even if I just replace
the amp with a chip amp it is a good small amp for computer speakers or
a small system.
