Hello, have a couple of questions on preamp with tone control from "The Audiophiles's project sourcebook" from Mr. G. Randy Slone. I've modelled it in LTSpice and I would assume that the frequency response with the bass/mid/treble pots (RP1-6 in the schematic) in their center positin should be flat but it is not. Have I messed something up or the design is just not right? Also how do you implement 'tone defeat' switch here ? If I just toggle the output between out of R16 or out of tone control cuircut I don't get much signal in tone defeat is on (ie out of R16). One solution I have is a double toggle switch which basically disconnects the tone control cuircut both at the input and output but then the output signal with tone control connected is some 4 times higher than the signal just from the preamp section (with tone control fully disconnected) which makes the tone defeat functionality not quite usable ...
