Seeing a lot of members are having problems getting belt replacements for their CD players here is a quick fix for that stretched (loose) slipping belt, this is not meant to fix perished dried out belts.
1: Remove the belt in question, clean the belt and don't forget the pulleys with Methylated Spirits (alcohol)
2: Boil the belt in boiling water for 10mins making sure it is NOT laying on the bottom of the pan.
3: Remove the belt and drop into a glass of ice water for 1 min.
And there you have it, one shrunk belt while not as good as buying a new one, will get you out of trouble.

Hi, Mr. George! I have such a problem with Sony Kss-272a the belt is too loose and the pickup is not lifted, while the tray gets in... for how much time can it help? 1 month -1 year? How it can be possible to replace the belt?

It works for as long as it works 🙂 Its an old trick of the repair trade.
If the belt is square in cross section it can be worth turning it "inside out" so the two unused faces run in the pulley grooves.

george, thanks I ll try this. I have a turntable, and it was not playing perfect bcause of loose belt. Also i couldn't find a replacement.

Thank you, mr. Moly! I tried to turn the belt to spare surfaces it didn't work. So they say there is a special petrol called KALOSHA which has the same effect. Did U have any experience with it?
If the belt is not gripping then replacement is the only real cure. Google tells me Kalosha is lighter fuel or similar which would clean any grease from the belt. Sounds like you need a new belt.
Yes, Mr. Mooly. But not easy to find that BELT. it's a pity, I liked DP-75 But never thought that 'll be a crashing factor.

My trick when I'm in a pinch, is to use natural turpentine. Just soak the belt in it for a few minutes, blot with a paper towel & allow to air dry. Works really well.
