Hi all,
Apologies for starting this thread, but it's almost impossible to sieve through all the threads to get the answer.
Regarding the voltage for transformer in PSU Designer II, i know that for full wave rectification, the voltage is referenced to the center tap, but for bridge, is the voltage referenced between the 2 extreme ends of the coil?
THanks! 🙂

Re: Even quicker answer
Thank you! 🙂
One more question regarding the heater/filaments. The datasheet says 12.6V in series and 6.3V in parallel for a double triode tube. I suppose 6.3V is from one end of the filament to the center tap (ie, pin4 to pin9 of 5965)? And 12.6V is across the 2 extreme ends of the filaments (ie pin 4 and 5 of 5965)?
So with a trannie of 6-0-6, the 2 ends of the trannie will go to pin 4 and 5 and the centertap to pin 9? I suppose the centertap and pin 9 can be kept floating as well?
Thanks, and cheers! 🙂

Yes, your interpretation of the valve is correct. If you use a 6-0-6V transformer, then the centre tap should be connected to chassis because valve heaters should have their DC potential defined. It might help to connect the centre tap of the valve heater to chassis, but I wouldn't be in least surprised if you found it didn't make any difference from leaving it floating.

Thank you EC8010! 😀
