Hey
Just joined the board! Ok heres my situation, i have got my Viewframe spectra C projection panel and an overhead projection. Im a bit confused about the connections on the back, the picture attacthed shows the connections on my panel. Sorry its so small its from the ebay advertisement
(from left to right)
Power \ optional monitor \ digital \ analog \ Y/C \ Comp
Ive searched the boards and found the post about the easy VGA connector for use with PC's, im currently hunting one down (if anyone from UK can tell me where to get one i would be grateful.)
So my question is is it possible to connect my TV, DVD or playstation two through any of these connections? Or my video, ive tried to use my video in the Y/C connection but i recived no picture! (its an very old video btw)
Sorry if this sort of question has been asked thousands of times, ive searched and really just want to know these connections can be used for since i have no manual and cannot find one for my panel 🙁

Ive tried it again on my newer video but i dont understand how the panel can detect what frequency video is on (of the other way round?) since there is no tuning function on the panel.

H3 do you have the remote for the lcd panel? That has all the buttons on it Probbable have to select the Input with the remote, If you lived closer I would say bring it over and I will try My remote on it. The YC and comp are composit and s video in Just a FYI hope that helped some?😕
ahh that seems to be most likely the problem, ive got a Mac to Vga adapter coming tommorow so *hopefully* the source will have been left on analog.
Thanks for your help anyway, ive tried searching for a remote but it seems the only way to get one is to buy a new panel!
At first i thought it might be a problem with my television / video being PAL and the panel only working with NTSC?
thanks anway 🙂

Try a programmable remote
This could be done.
There are lots of remote codes on the net
www.remotecentral.com
or for ASK, Sharp and other panels
http://ir.premisesystems.com/search.aspx
or perhaps buy one that 'learns codes' off a working remote.
You could then ask for help from good people who have that model and send the learning remote to a friend to program for you!
Perhaps ADMIN could 'trap' this key panel information and set up two stickies
1 For remote control help requests
2 For pin out diagrams for DIY VGA cables
Those that then have learning remotes that are also programmable they could dump the key codes there as well so that other people who buy remoteless panels have a solution.

hey, thanks for the suggestion. Ive browsed those sites and a few others using google but couldnt find any codes for the spectra c!
I found some, however, for the media pro projection panel. Any chance that the main functions like reset and source might work on my panel? I think i have an old remote somewhere i might try the codes on that, worth a try 🙂
The learning remotes seem very expensive, i found these on kelkoo

cheapest is 44.99 😱
thanks for your help
