Just a quick question and I'm a noob. I've tried searching but couldn't find an answer.
Is 100uf/100V cap = 100uf/100Vdc cap?
I'm looking for a 100V Rubycon cap but could only find a 100Vdc one with Farnell.
Thanks.

Look at the datasheet: the voltage rating is always the total voltage, so the sum of AC and DC.
So, yes you can use that fancy Farnell-cap ;-)
However, maybe you want to check which Rubycon cap you need, there are low-ESR series and long lifetime series available. You probably want to pick something similar from another manufacturer.
Have fun, Hannes
