I've done a search and it wasn't easy finding the info that I needed.

Are laptop lcd screens high quality? How do they compare with regular lcd monitors (like contrast ratios, etc)? I have access to a controller that requires a screen, but i'm unsure whether to get laptop lcd or not.

Well that depends on what screens the controller can handle. The real advantage I see in laptop screens is that modern ones usually have higher resolutions in a smaller size, and that (besides the controller) they are very cheap on ebay.
