I am done with my hawaii but want to add a grill to it. How do I go about doing this? What do i need?
Also I heard something about I need a removable back for tweaking later. How would I make a removable back? Thanks.

well there are 2 simple ways to add a grill
1. velcro
2. there are shops that will sell those little black plastic things that you need for a grill.
if you use (2) then you have to build a frame (i use the stuff they sell as mouldings - to add a decorative touch to furniture) and using 4 45 deg. cuts build a frame. make 4 holes at each corner and attach the plastic bits. the box has to be modified to accept the plastic bits.
the back can be made so it can be screwed on and off. if you have already veneered the box you are in trouble.

not if the screw holes are chamfered. if you still fear air leaking cover the holes in silly putty and you can scoop the putty out when you want to use the screws
I think that removable back seriously weakens the rigidity of the box. You can still tweak anything by removing the drivers. I've never build a speaker with removable back and none of the good ones employ this feature.😉
the thing is that my hawaii is mounted from the back of the baffle. so i cant just remove the driver and tweak.
Then you should use some sort of a gasket (rubber, closed cell foam used for packaging or under floating floors, weather proof strips used to seal windows and doors or some other similar stuff).
