i'm attempting to do the psone lcd mod where you put it on your computer case as a secondary display.
i don't want it as a primary display, so how to i add a pci video card and how do you tell windows that's your secondary display and not your primary?
or can i just buy a vga output splitter? do they make those? and i can solder one to the psone lcd? and still have a vga go to my regular monitor?
here is the link to the mod so you know what i mean.

Many newer video cards have dual outputs. Sometimes they have DVI + a D-sub (15 pin, aka VGA), somtimes dual DVI, and sometimes dual D-sub. Everyone I know that runs a two displays does it via that method.
yeah, i have a high end card in my main computer.
it has a dvi and vga... is there a dvi to vga connector that is cheap?
i don't think there are any cards that have two vga's on the back, since you could probably buy a splitter? i'm not positive though.
but i might just try the S-Video to RCA then i could try the psone lcd without trying to solder the vga cord.
i was thinking about trying to solder the vga cables to the board, but when i spliced an extra VGA cord i have, the little wires are so freaking small, that i think they are made of plastic? is this right? i don't see how you could make it solder right.

The cable has to contain more than just plastic to conduct a signal, but any metal core might be so fine that soldering will be very difficult. A higher quality VGA cable (with thicker wires) is your best bet if you decide to take that approach.
And video cards do come with dual VGA output, I have a GeForce 4 TI4600 that has dual VGA out. The purpose of it is to run two desktops, so I can game on one monitor and surf the web on the other 🙂

wow, cool.
but what games do you run that won't crash when you're surfing with windows running? and how do you manage which thing you want displayed on which monitor? guess this is from the geforce software?

svideo all messed up to my 7" car lcd
I tried running the svideo out from my pc to the rca input on my 7 inch car lcd. Now I hear the this lcd does not accept svideo signal just rca or composite. I was getting all messed up image with the svideo input.
I am not however 100% convinced that if i take a rca video output from a video card that the image will be perfect. Perhaps i need to use powerstrip and set the horizontal, vertical scans etc..?
