Hi
Since I didn't get any response to my Luxkit/Avance Z-504 (Luxman diy kit) questions, I have decided to strip it down and rebuild it 😀
As some of you may now, it uses a heatpipe cooling system. It can be seen here :

I want put the output modules upright, so the pcb board are down with the heatsinking flanges on top. That means the heatpipe is vertical. Is this a bad idea? The heatpipe have some fluid inside (freon?) and I wonder if it will work with the pipes in that position instead of being horizontally mounted .. hmm
Thanx in advance 😉

The heatpipes operate best in the upright position, providing the hot side is at the bottom.
But you will experience a problem with the heatsinks if their flanges are orientated in the horizontal plane.
An option is to bend the heatpipes in a 90 degree angle.
(sent you a mail with a link to a heatpipe pdf)

Thanx for the info (and the pdf). Yes, the flanges will be in the horizontal plane, with the 6x Sankens at the bottom. There are 18 flanges per channel, roughly 13x13cm each. I was planning to cool them with a fan though, so I guess it'll work
