Hi!
I finally got working alternative light source to my LCD-projectorproject (I took apart some optics and lamp from old DIA projector and it worked fine). Now I am looking for a replacement lamp for it. The original lamp on it has text "SYL, Made in W.Germany" and "24V FCS 150W 54".
I've been informed that about any 24V OHP lamp will fit but I'd like to get some more specific information. I have investigated this subject some and what I know now is that the base is probably G6.35 (is it?) and there are mainly 250W and 275W lamps for it, and most have average life of 50hrs or 300hrs. I think I'll get one, altough the image is visible in daylight with thin curtains on the window I think I'd like it to be a bit brighter.
The temperature with this 150w lamp is very ok, and I am cooling it only with one 8cm fan on 9v, so I can quite easily add more cooling if needed. How much more heat will 250W lamp generate? Can I use the original power supply (I guess I can if it doesnt start to heat up a lot?)?
How much brighter do you think a new 150w lamp made with today's technology would be compared to this very old one I have now (the text "Made in W.Germany" indicates that this is at least 10-20 years old lamp, altough not much used)? What about the average life, how long will these kinds of lamps last compared to what the manufacturer promises when cooled properly?
I also hope that if some of you know about some specific fact that I told here that it would be verified because I am not absolutely sure almost about any information I've gathered at this point.
Thanks!
HB
