I am kind of new to the tube experience. I found a couple of type 19 tubes. I wonder if someone can tell me what this tube was typically used for?
Maybe I can incorporate it into a amp project some day.
Thanks in advance for the info.

It is a direct heating double triode (DHT).
Push Pull B class one only tube in very old radio.
You can make a low power amp (<1w) 🙂

The #19 tube
This tube make for a very nice "Twinplex Regenerative Receiver".
It was very popular in 1936 as a DIY one tube radio.

The 19 tube
I would be willing to swap some more common Audio tubes for them. I have been wanting to build the twinplex for some time now. I have almost any tube you mention except el34's. If interested just PM me with your ideas.
Have a great day

Possible Paraphase?
Could the 19 or the 1J6G, which is the octal version, be used as a paraphase splitter? I have some of the octals and I was thinking about using them as a paraphase front end driving PP 47s.

With those curves I'd use it as a guitar amp power stage. Possibly two in parallel. I had a 1G6G power section once and it worked great.
Guys,
Thanks for all the info.
It might be fun to build a receiver. I'll have to hunt for a schematic.
I will give some thought that, or possibly swapping them for other tubes, like mltube suggested.

Build a Doerle Twinplex with a single 19, details are here: http://www.bignick.net/images/RadioPix/TwinPlex.pdf and http://www.bignick.net/TubeRadio.htm
TJ Lindsay published a reprint of the Doerle Twinplex book some years ago which is now unfortunately out of print. Worth having IMHO.
