If Martin shares the source of code it would not be piracy.
There is Octave software witch is the open and free software version alternative to Matlab, you can run the same code on it rarely you need to do some small changes to replace function in case it does not exist yet.

On his FB site Martin and fellow enthusiasts can provide helpful feedback if needed with your sims and ideas using the excellent alternatives.
Hornresp has Martin's models, and MATLAB is not required:

Hornresp does not use MATLAB or MathCad, just Martin's models 🙂.
