Hi All,
I am in the process of building an F5, and I have a question about the power supply (I am in Malaysia, and the AC Voltage is 230V). In Mr. Pass's schematic, there's a CL-60 between the Primary windings, and a 0.0033F capacitor across the live & neutral of the AC lines. My question: is it critical to have the capacitor? If yes, is there a part number for a suitable part? I tried to search on element14 website for a 0.0033F 300V capacitor and couldn't find one. Appreciate any advice from you, thanks.
Best regards
Liu

The capacitor across the supply is not absolutely necessary but if it is fitted it must be an X type cap.
