Question for the electrically gifted...

I've an older 3M 2800 projector that runs a 24volt 275watt bulb. I'd like to convert it to run a 400watt 36volt bulb (EVD) like the newer 3M 9800 uses. The problem is I need a way to "up" my 24 volts to 36 volts. I figure a different transformer is in order, but don't know how to properly size it. 400watts at 110 volts requires 3.6amps of power. 400watts at 36 volts requires 11.1 amps of power. Should I be looking for a 110-120 vac transformer with a 36 volt secondary capable of producing 11.1 amps (of secondary power)? If so, I'm having trouble finding one. Or is my math (or thinking) incorrect? I'd really like to use this 2800, it has the triple optics and the reflector/heavy condenser lens lamp assembly. Thanks for your help in advance...
