My tube amp outputs around 8W RMS. Do you think a 4 core solid 24 AWG silver wire be suitable? Each strand can take around 3.5A (according to http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm) so each pole can take 7A. I think that is okay, any thoughts? Should I go to 8 strand instead?
Its not the amperage rating thats important its the impedance. And asking about speaker wire on this site may only confuse. (look up the "does speaker wire make a difference" thread if you have a few weeks to waste.)
Hi
That cable will take 8 Watts rms no problem.
As to how it sounds ????? Have you tried cat5/6 ethernet cable i have tried this
and still use as im very happy with i know others have and they like it too.

Yeah currently using Cat5e cables and they do sound good. They are 24awg as 4 twisted pairs. Just looking for something to try out. I am not looking for what sounds better, but asking if it was safe and possible to use 2 pairs of 24 awg for a 8wrms amp.
My main thought was using a cotton sleeve solid conductor cable.
