I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to this stuff so please bear with me...
So today was the neighborhood-wide yard sale and I picked up an OEM tape deck for my accord, some toys for my kids, and a pair of old but well preserved dynaco a-25 loudspeakers. Total for everything: USD $25. Not bad.
Then I get home and plug them in and one tweeter is bad, and the other is not happy, it sizzles a bit on the peaks. These speakers are apparently the oldest A25 design as the drivers are scan-speak and the stuffed hole is at the top above the tweeter.
Should I...
A.) Replace the bad tweeters and call it a day (50-60 bucks)
B.) Replace the woofers and tweeters (~200 bucks)
C.) Pull the woofers, get some decent tweeters and make a new box (??? bucks)
or
D.) Take up another hobby before I get into speaker building.

I once had those loudspeakers.
The original tweeter is the Seas 87H
The original woofer is the Seas 25 TV-EW
Seas has ceased make these units long time ago.
I would go for A), then D).
Check out http://www.oaktreeent.com/Dynaco_Speaker_Parts.htm for replacement parts. Original, but expensive.
Perhaps the more modern Seas 25TFFC can substitue the tweeters.
