What are those enormous capacitors doing on the 44 input boards?

There are no electrolytic capacitors anywhere near any those sizes on any of those boards. Just 100mF film caps for the most part. What components are they replacing?

C404 and C405 are both 1000uf 25v and that’s exactly what I have fitted, just better quality.

I am asking about the two large pink capacitors on or near the two Tape boards. There are no such large components in the schematic. What are they, and why, and what other non-standard modifications have you done to this unit, or the 405 for that matter?

If you mean capacitors in above image in first post. There are capacitors in original board as seen from following picture taken from the internet. They are on board parallel to the face plate.

They are NOT pink for starters ( perhaps you need to visit your opticians ) they are Elma silmic capacitors that are EXACTLY the same value as per the schematic AND exactly the same as what Quad had in there . I have answered every question and you still are not listening WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ? 🤣🤣

I'm tempted, my Quad collection currently stands at a 606 and a 306 and I'd like to add a 405 but you've already done all the work I'd enjoy doing ! I would like a UK built 909 if you know of one.
