You mentioned to use small fast caps to decouple the amp boards, did some rumagging around and found 100uf al electrolytics, but also 100uf polypropylene film caps, which do you think would be more suitable at this point, not sure which is the faster out of the two.

Hi. Thanks. Why do you think a 100uf cap would be good at this point. I want to remove some of the interference from the other amp board and smooth the dc a little, i would have thought that something like a 0.02 - 1uf would be good and there are already 0.1uf polypropylenes, why do you think such big caps are recommended.

I'd like to see a 100uF polypropylene or any type of film cap. Perhaps you mean 100nF.

Tony is right though, if you want to tinker with a proven, unique design that really doesn't respond well to modification, you need to try such harmless additions for yourself. You can't plan modifications by polling opinions - you may accept the wrong ones based on any predisposition you have to the reply or just pick suggestions that could be followed with what parts you have available - missing the good ideas.

There are other websites that specialise in Quad designs and will have many things to try that are probably safe and may even be explained properly. I think Keith Snook's articles are probably the most sane and have a lot of in-depth, inspirational and honest content.
