I bought a QA-2500 off of eBay for $199 because everybody said it was the Holy Grail of projection panels with a 150:1 contrast ratio and 1024x768 resolution.
I downloaded the manual and the specs in the back show a contrast ratio of 60:1 typical.

uh well all i know is what iv read here and everyone here says its 200:1 so ... i dunno but yer right supposadly it is the best .. and i would have paid 199 to so it was a good deal iv seen them go for over $400 on ebay .. and even more locally
Yeah, I thought so. I bought it within 1 hour of it being listed. I just got lucky.
I wish I knew about the contrast ratio though. I already have an Ask Impact WSX that does 100:1. This is off-topic but I also have a 1650 that the video looks . . . fuzzy on the edges when people move. Is it broken or is that normal for a 1650. I think it must be screwed-up because people seem pretty happy with their 1650s. I couldn't watch it like that myself.

The reason I ask is that it is possible to get a 1280*1024 monitor with 500:1 contrast and 16ms response time for less than $130 on ebay, but you guys are saying $200 is a good deal for a 1024*768 panel with 60:1 contrast and 80-100!!!ms response time. Why is that a good deal? Is it because it doesn't need dissassembly, or what?

its a ohp LCD panel .. not a lcd monitor built in rca input + high res + svideo input plus no striping self contained and cooling
= $200 a good price vs the normal $400 for it on ebay and iv seen them go for $800 locally... also my sharp 1800 only has 40ms response time .. i play xbox andalot of movies on it and i get no ghosting .... my only complaint is the low contrast at 100:1
but i still like it
