Purifi vs. Pascal (Etc.)?

I see a lot of generalisations about class D amps in this tread. Modern Purifi, Hypex NCore and IcePower amps are very high quality, and probally the most neutral amps arround. They don't break down after a few years (cheap chinese amps may, but not those). And are they overpriced? Some are surely, but not as bad as many higher quality class A or AB amps are. I know those purif amps, i know the NCore also, and maybe half price would be a more honest price for them. But amps like McIntosh, Boulder, Dan D'Agostino, Mark Levinson, PS Audio and even Pass Labs are way more overpriced these days. And there are also quiet decent cheap good class D amps like from Toppings, SMSL, ... just like there are many cheap good class AB amps (Yamaha, Marantz, ...). And if you think you can do better on price/quality, do it.

But what keeps me a bit away is the sound, they sound clinical to me, and i prefer the higher harmonic distortion of class A or AB (tube or solid state) above them. But they are surely not crap like some say here.

ps: I'm not talking about the Pascal amps as i don't know them, so i can't judge them.
