Sorry, im just diy guy hunger for information.

When i read these threads there seems to be many commercial guys, always talking about customers, pro's need hints too i quess.

Other model was 160.2 i think, damn there is so many board layouts with rf amps.

About the missing cap when i measure connector there is 26volts. Is it rail voltage? Filter caps for rail?

I think ive learn a lot messing with these amps.

About the noise/hiss issue this 55.2 amp is noisy when just speakers connected to amp, noise goes away if rcas are connected to amp.

As i said im not making living with repairing these, just to learn things

The caps are across the rails (rail to ground), according to the diagram. Some similar amps have them installed. Some do not.

Contact Rockford for the diagram.

Is the noise a problem if it's not present under normal operating conditions?

Not in this amp.

That vulcan gets noisy in normal use. I think im gonna change all capacitors in it.

There seems to be many 10uf capacitors inside rf amps these are all polarized caps, right?

Most of the 10uF caps are polarized but I can't say ALL are.

There are some that were poor quality. The DSM amps and the preamp boards had bad caps (all SMD, 10uF). The rest are not likely to be bad. There's no point in replacing caps that are not defective.
