Hold off all bets, a Bill-Killer whale has been sighted heading for Denmark.
A late happy birthday Steen! May you have many joyful moments!

Regarding the present from the boyz, it must be something very very very special....

something more like this :
Sorry for bothering - I'll go back to the Pumpkin/Shunties...
... in the meantime, yes - Steen - Happy 32-nd (HEX) birthday!
Just arrived a monster that will feed the Shunties
. Custom winded EI transformer- ordered for 2 X 42V RMS. Still didn't have a time to check a voltage on it.

Yes - at the moment monster will feed both Shunties... similar to one presented in SF, isn't it?
I don't think that the SF pre had any Shunties at all. A much more conventional power supply instead,. It did have only one transformer though..
You better know 😉 and You're right. I was thinking about similarities with a transformer. Btw, here are the measurements just taken "in the air" - with no load. Seems to be very good...Variac said:I don't think that the SF pre had any Shunties at all. A much more conventional power supply instead,. It did have only one transformer though..
Well, I thought it sounded great w/o shunties, (much credit to the F4 of course) So with Shunties seems almost scary😱
I am rebuilding my F4 as it was pretty cobbed together for the show, and will post photos in the F4 thread when it is done, then on to the Pumkie Shuntkin

You will be quite fine with that transformer - the more VA the merrier! Yes it is quite similar to the one I got. I didn't have Shunty ready for the BA, but I used two power supplies that were originally from XBoSOZ - non regulated power supplies. I am working on completing the Shunty which is quite the task.

Good luck with your project

Agreed! My 'cap racks' will be fed from a EI out of a '80s Technics receiver ~50+50 with a couple aux taps for accessories. Ah, from the junkyard of course 🙂
Pumpkin Volume Control
Hi. What would be the best volume control for the pumpkin?
It is a balanced input preamp, so a few question:
If use as single ended, do we just ground one input and input the signal into the remaining input, any side is better than the other for that?
-I guest we need a balanced volume control. Is this balanced 5K serie attenuator fro K&K audio a good choice: http://www.kandkaudio.com/linestage.html
any other suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Pumpkin Volume Control
I think that I covered that in Cook Book's addendum ......
anyway - either using input or output unbalanced - most convenient is to ground minus leg , and use positive leg as hot
use whatever attenuator or pot ( up to 50K) , but have that on mind - shunt attenuator ( as shown on that link ) have variable output/input impedance
for Pumpie that isn't problem, but for some sources can be .
edit :
if you choose pot ........ our friend at Dantimax (lookie lookie) have some interesting things
