Looking for heatsink alternatives - I suppose the silkscreen PCB on the Cookbook is to scale?

And therefore the following below, which is 40mm wide would not fit?
http://www.futurlec.com/Heatsinks/TO218S049B.shtml

So I'm considering the below:

http://www.aavidthermalloy.com/cgi-bin/stdisp.pl?Pnum=6032b-tt

Comments?

silkscreen is in scale - if you look it in 100% scale on screen 😉

anyway - on last page you can find Fischer numbers

download this :

and look

~ 4MB , but worthy

this thread is certainly biggest burlesca in forum ......... history 😉

burlesque(bər-lĕsk')

n.
A literary or dramatic work that ridicules a subject either by presenting a solemn subject in an undignified style or an inconsequential subject in a dignified style. See synonyms at caricature.
A ludicrous or mocking imitation; a travesty: The antics of the defense attorneys turned the trial into a burlesque of justice.
A variety show characterized by broad ribald comedy, dancing, and striptease.

Personally, I like the last definition!😉

ZM means that at the current level of the shunty it bares little significance.
Wirewounds have less noise, are sturdier, induction or induction-free has no bearing for DC-operation.
So if you got them, sure, use them.
But if you don't, use metalfilm, ever checked how much a low power wirewound resistor costs ? (e.g Dale RS series)
