I am sold, Greame is, the question is, are you???? Yep, I dressed it......;-)

AT LAST! Someone talking about something I understand.......I would like that on the end of my Carron with my new 15' Meiser and Bogdan (Copy reel)!!!

No worries Choky, we will let you keep the little that's left 😀

Magura 🙂

when we at it (brain :rofl: ) I figured last night (thinkin'about your puzzle) that - if anyone use :Pumpkin: with F4 - can freely omit input jfets in F4 ........ and output cap(s) in :Pumpkin: ;

in that case - cable issues - it's wise to make that combo as integrated drek ......... in any variation someone choose ........ unbal, bal, etc ......

I'll be back to your puzzle later - tonight- ......... sorry - I must fly now :clown:

Thanks a lot, Brian. Yep I tied that Akroyd; Dee-strip winged fly on the pic. Sad that the Bogdan reels are so scarce (and expensive😱 ) They sure are great.
Since you like the fly that much, here is an even prettier one😉
My favourite fly from the Victorian era, the Jock Scott. I fancy, dressing those old patterns with all the real stuff (feathers) 🙂
Not that I actually fish with them, this specimen took a full 8 hours to dress, and cost a minor fortune with all the fancy feathers🙂

in any case - Shunty is mish-mash between implication to SHUNT and SHANTAV (fonetic written) , which on serbian language is verb for person with injured or (one ) shorter leg .

we have some other verbs for persons with both leg shorter  :clown:

anyway - that can easily be implication for ZM ...... with my double discus-hernia, I'm often more than SHANTAV ............:clown:

Here i was, thinking that the Shunty's name, was derived from a Choky and a Shunt

😀

pic saved to "steen" folder ........ 😉

Nice you like it ZM. Here is just one more. This one is a very special pattern by G. E. M. Kelson. Its nearly never seen anymore. If you care to look at the small orange feathers, veiling the rear body half, they are from the "Golden Bird of Paradise". The bird is nearly extinct, and I had those feathers from an english publisher. They were very old and packaged in a cellofan bag, with the original handwritten text on it. Luckily I have a few left, for my collection of rare stuff😎 Oh, BTW here is the UK publisher who used to order flies from me😉 If you read down the text, you will actually stumble over my name😱

Those books are precious, take a look at the price tag, 450£ 😀 They do smell like a Mercedes Benz with real leather seats, though😎
The fly on the pic is the " Highland Gem". 🙂

Yep, thats little me😀 I dressed flies for 3 of the Deluxe editions. A big pleasure indeed. My biggest accomplishment as a flydresser (apart from winning the DK championship twice), was to win gold here:
http://www.mustad.no/mso/index.html
Unfortunately, they doesnt list the old scoreboards, but i participated in the 90's when the competition was really tough. My goldmedal there, started all kind of things, like the book job😉 The very best thing, resulting from the medal, was that Orri Vigfusson from Iceland (known by all concerning salmon anglers) send me a letter afterwards, asking me to donate some flies to be selled at an auction in London. It was one of those fond raising auctions, to save the salmon. Ofcourse I send him 4 flies to sell, and as far as i know they went for at least 2500 USD a piece🙂 Makes me feel good🙂

🙂
Enough of this fly talk, this is the last fly posted, namely the "Black Dog" another favourite of mine.
I might post a pic of a Pumpkin, shortly😀 😀
🙂

BTW did you see the horror goin' on over at the Jfet GB thread?? Man I dont hope it will cast another dark cloud over DIY........

And I live 1 Km from the famous Junction Pool on Tweed!

Those Salmon Flies are certainly WORLD CLASS!http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif !

The original publisher was Jack Heddon, who was a friend of mine when we both lived in London.

Yes, the Bogden is very expensive. But the Wurm copy from Munich is quite good...the Swedish 'Alta" copy is soft steel and alloy. I have these and wurm and 4 made by a friend in the aircraft industry...these ones are the very best. I will post some pics!!! Off the thread but on the line!

My fly tying is only for fishing ...no exhibition attempts!

Best wishes,

Brian

yup ; I saw that ........

I think that even my friend AR2 bought few , after I pointed him in that direction .... pics of so-called 2SJ109V are ............ :hot:

Man, I am glad that I didnt participate!! I nearly did order some, but counting my stock, I didnt really need any.... And all that "V" talk had me suspicious!!!! The pictures of ES44's over in the GB thread talk theire clear language, and so does the testing results of H_A's. For now, this is another really dark cloud over the, otherwise great GB's, here at DIYaudio....

Okay, here is a real update on my Pumpkin..... I am waiting for 3 darn resistor values to show up in the mail!! All the rest is in place and ready to roll......😀 And i am ready to Rock😎

Wow!...It's great to learn, aside from Mr. Pass, we have another worldfamous person in our midst. You're really a fine craftsman, Steen...no matter what you lay your hands on I bet. Happy New Year!

I lived in Papua New Guinea early on and I know the Bird of Paradise is their national bird and the males are really beautiful and very colorful...I used to try and draw them in grade school.

BTW, that's an Irish flag.

All the best,
Allan
