54W is coming out of the Sorensen benchtop supply measuring 39VDC @ ~1.37A. That feeds voltage dividers that power an audio amp that converts one of the rails over to -V. ..........

nope

thingy is dividing existing two rails and establishing 3rd one

you're deciding to use that 3rd (centered) one as GND, thus lower one becomes (more) negative and upper one stays positive

these 0R1 resistors in upper schematic are ones I'm mentioning in other thread

increase them slightly and you're good
