PSU Design question

Hi Family,

C: capacitance of the last cap (the one that will provide energy to the demands of the stage)

R: Is the DC resistance of the whole PSU. A decent approximation (I think) is the resistance of everything leading to that last cap. In my case a resistor ater the bridge and the two chokes I use as filters. I did not considered the resistance of the mains transformer, the bridge rectifier, or the caps.

My reasons behind this are:

The mains transformer resistance is close to 0 for DC (I know it is not exactly true but...), and the capacitors are an open circuit to DC.

I guess that the first concern is the ripple rejection, and from then on I modified things to get low R and therefore a low 5*R*C value.

All that said, this is only my interpretation of what I've read. I have still much to read and I have still to build the PSU and see how it performs. It may even be a complete disaster.
