Hay guy's,
I've been trying to find this mod were you can use a scart for av in on the psone screen but i've had no joy, I've tried looking at one of the threads on this site but i'm having abit of a problem with viewing pictures all i get is a red x where the picture should be, If anyone can point me in the right way or if you have pic's i can download that would be great, Any other mods or hacks you may have would be great aswell.

Thanks

Hi all i've managed to have a go at trying to hack psone screen to scart,
The only problem is i get a wierd stuff on the screen, when i turn on my dvd player the picture is normal and it is a nice picture but then it starts to roll with loads of coulors, but then the picture comes back for a minute then go again it keeps doing this, this is ho i've wired it up,

scart wires Psone pinout all slot 1
composte pin 3 c sync
red in pin 4 red in
green in pin 5 green in
blue in pin 6 blue in
ground (rbg ground all together 3 wires) pin 7 ground

If anyone can help that would be great.

foxdonovan, can you just confirm this is what you did (i put the pin equilivents on the PSOne screen, as I seem to remmber you soldered stright to the board)

From Scart

Scart red to Screen Red input (pin 12)
Scart blue to Screen Blue input (pin 9)
Scart Green to Scren Green input (pin 12)

Scart ground inlcuding ground for R,G,B signals to Screen Video Ground (pin 8)

Scart composte to Screen Composite Sync (pin 6)

I assume it's a non-polarised 10uf cap actually on the c sycn wire,

e.g.

Sync wire from scart-----> Capacitor>------>Screen Composit Sync in

not

+---Sync wire from scart-------------------->Screen Composit Sync in

+---Ground------------------------------------------> screen ground

not between/across the wire and ground?

Also did you add 220uf capacitors on each of the RGB lines as some people seem to to get an exceptable picture?

Also is is still working ok, do you advise others to try this mod?

Many thanks,

James.

p.s. hope that txt diagram of the wiring isn't too confusing!
