simple
well, what i did is get a camcorder lead like this,
http://www.maplin.co.uk/images/Full/29308i0.jpg
and it allows me to conect it to my AV out on my PC or whatever has an AV out. Also on the Video (yellow) cable i fitted a female socket with the male socket so i can have both depending on the type of conector i come across.
heres what i mean,

do not.,,use a halogen, a 50 wat halogen is really hot, anything more is suiside
also when making the light engine, try to make the hole in which the ligh goes through to the LCD as small as possible, as it keeps the heat away and is exhausted from the rear
do what i did, i got a tempered glass and after that i placed MDF (wood) with a a hole to allow light throgh. the LCD remian cool.
the hole has to be big enogh so the f-lenses can magnify it.
also try to keep the Fres lens not too close to the lcd as they also heat the lcd up hot.
for best cooling place an air vent ABOVE the LCD but slightly infront of it
this is where cool air enters and cools the lcd. (even tho it dont get hot. just to be safe
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=49062&id=513498777)
then to allow the cool air to enter the light box area, do this make a gap 1cm high on the bottom of the tempered glass and MDF. (this gap can also be used to allow the wires to go pass.
because the cool air enters at the bottom, the warm air rises and the cool air replaces it and cools the light box. have the fan 10-15 cm behind the lamp on the back of the Projector.
this air flow is so good

messing around
built casing today and used for the front lens a disco moon projector lens. bunged in a fresnel about an inch in front of
the front lens put in a piece of plyboard with piece cut out
for lcd screen.
then i put in a piece of clear plastic instead of the lcd screen just to test it. drew a picture on it with a marker and it projected the image not to bad.
but i like the way you have done it a lot better

because ciderman replyed to my posts, he kinda got back into the tweak mode of the projector buliding,
so i tweaked it and ended up removing the speakers from it to reduce the weight.
i cant be asked to post it tho.
its been a year with this projector and to be honest i prefer a better one as this is my first, i want to try a lilliput one day but i hate the screen door efects.
ciderman........., u could get away by using a 12volt hallogen 50watt bulb with a ballast. this would be great for light power but the heat is an issue. these are found in slide projectors.
these are best as the light is not yellow.
