I already know some of you will be laughing.. Im using ps4 for source and spotify. would a streamer make a noticeable difference? if so would I get better bass? better sound stage? louder? have any of you switched from ps4 or xbox to a streamer? Budget £500-£700. I only listen in multi channel 2fronts 2front highs. may one day get rear heights
Sound stage as a lot to do with speakers and rooms. It also has to do with DACs.
To have bass in the first place is mostly a function of speakers. Making bass sound its best also involves rooms, amplifiers, DACs, etc.
Louder is mostly a function of speakers and amplifiers.
A streamer doesn't have to be much, its mostly a small computer that can receive digital audio from the internet and send it to a DAC. Some streamers may include a DAC internally.

so ps4 good? or ps4 bad?.. I have it running though denon 3400h.. Things have moved on since 1995 when I had a massive class AA technics amp, a graphic and a cd player wired to a cerwin vega vs15s and two paradiam ps1000 subs it was simple then and now its mind blowing. If i had a dsp on that set up it would of better than most systems today i think.
