The NTSC PSone screen has a native resolution of 320x240 . You can do the Vga mod and use Powerstrip to run it at 640x480 but it just compresses it to 320x240.
The pal Psone screen has a slightly higher resolution but I can't remember at the moment what it is.

thanks for the info
looks like i will just have to go dowm the 15 inch root for true PAL (or ntsc) res...
so much for the small projector 🙄
probably get a ohp and strip the optics out

I read that the PAL screen was capable of DVD res, 720/576... useing powerstrip & VGA mod, but some disagree with these figures.
All i can say is that i had one, and the quality on it was very good, much better than 320/240, could read icons on my desktop at 800/600 that was only through the composite, the VGA would be better again. (state the bloody obvious!) LOL.
What would the slightly higher res of the PAL LCD be? i wonder....
Having searched the net, to find the difference between PAL/NTSC, i found this site, (which i hope the owner doesnt mind me linking to)... NTSC VS PAL
This explains things a wee bit....?

Hi modster78 , thanks for thanks!
About the ps1 LCD, i bought it from ARGOS in Belfast, but took it back under the 16 day no quibble guarantee after fiddling with it, wiring it up for power on, and composite, did'nt think it would be good enough for projecting over 50-60 inches, (perfectionist!) and the excessive red was an issue, which i could have fixed, and having to use powerstrip, if going the VGA route, but it cost me £60 quid! and did'nt want to fek it up!
So i removed all the mods,(except for the power mod, which i forgot, 😱 and took it back for a refund.
Talk about sweating! the woman in ARGOS looked it over completely, was waiting for her to get the magnifying lens out to check the screws for wear! but that did'nt happen, phew!
Got my refund, and bought a 15 inch NEC 1510 LCD which was £3.20p but the postage was £25.00 bloomin mainland UK ebayers! I sell on ebay, and dont charge any extra for postage, in the whole UK! anyway, i digress, (which i'm wont to do, on (regular) occassions).
This was over a year ago now, and i think it was the last one that that particular ARGOS had in stock.
I think they are available on ebay, dont know what you would pay, though.

Thats my ultimate aim, to get it from the OHP to the PJ style, a big step. with a lot of work involved, but should be worth it in the end.
