Can anyone tell me if i can buy a Proxima 822C for about 200$
without headache.

I had bad luck in the past with an Nview Spectra C
but cannot go the TFT on OHP way in my room because
i cannot install the OHP so close to the screen.

I need 3.5m distance for a 80" screen.
This distance i can handle only with a 9 - 10,4" Displays.

This Proxima 822C is such a Panel.
(10,4", 640x480, 2 Mio Colors)

Also it has a Video In so i didn't need to buy an extra
VGA/ XGA Theatre (Video VGA Converter).

Did i have to take care on special cables.
The guy has only the netcord. He says i wouldn't need more.

Will a 640x480 display have a great screendoor effect
when you sit nearly at the same distance (again 3.5m)

My Spectra was damaged , and it looks really pixelized.
But because i have never seen a "good working"
640er Display i don't know now, if this is normal
or only because my Panal was not properly function.

best regards
Rainer

Proxima 822c

This is a good panel, from what I read. Unfortunately....

However,

I bought a 822c and can't get it to display more than 24000+ colors. I am not sure if the panel is fried, or if I am doing something wrong. I tried VGA from a GEFORCE 4200 and RCA jacks. Still only 8, 3300, and 24000 video modes were available. Is this me or a bad panel. Thanks.

Before buying a real projector I had one with a normal 3m 9100 projector. Very nice panel I must say. I don't know why you couldn't get more than 24000 colors but mine did 2m with no problems. I didn't notice any motion blur or lines on the image. DVD quality was good. The screen door effect wont be noticable from that distance. I was using mine at 2 meters from the screen and I didn't see it. If it it apparent to you just unfocus the lens a little bit and it will go away.
