I have just recieved a Proxima Ovation +944, I am presently using a 3M 6450 on top of my Elmo hp305 Solar Deluxe.
The unit did not come with power or cable. I am aware I can use power from any 820 up to the 944, so I will probably just grab a low end 820 to get the power (unless someone in here has a power supply to sell).
The problem is going to be hooking it up to my computer. It has a very strange monitor in plug. I have not seen anything like it on any of my previouse sharp or 3m units, and no one seems to be familiar with an adaptor.
It does have s-video and RCA, but I would still prefer hooking it straight to my computer.
So, if the powere supply is good from 820 to 944, what about the monitor in jacks? Would they use the same svga, or xga cables? If they do not, is there an adapoter that I could plug my svga cable into and plug the adaptor into the panel? And if there is an adaptor or speacial cable, does anyone have one for sale?

this isnt going to answer your question but what quality did you get from your 3m 6450 cuz i just got a 3m 6400 and was wondering about the quality of it and how it compares to any other units...thanks

Reasonably Good
It claimed to be at 800x600, but other post would tell you that is not the true res, they say it is compressed and is really 640x480.
I was please with it for watching movies, It performed very well, but watching sports, mostly Football & Hockey. I was not pleased.
Ther would be marginal pixelation but the contrast was the real problem. But watching movies it was great.

how is the Proxima Ovation 944? I am very interested in using this screen because it is pretty much ready to roll.

I have a 15' cable for sale for the Proxima 920 / 944 that I had custom made to the actual Proxima pinout for their cable, Proxima Part # C800-6. It works perfect. I will personnally guarantee it. You can see a picture of it on my website at this link:
